Pamela Anderson is an icon of modern day beauty. She has been a household name for over a decade and her appeal continues to stay strong. She was born in British Columbia in the town of Ladysmith. Her birthday is unique in that it fell on Canada’s one-hundredth birthday on July 1st, 1967. Her birth was the topic of newspaper articles and she was titled “The Centennial Baby.” Pamela’s parents, Barry and Carol Anderson won a cash prize for the historical birth.

Pamela Denise Anderson seemed destined for fame from the start. Her striking beauty drew attention when she was just a child. A photographer spotted Pamela while she was attending a storytelling session in a library. She was sitting among one-hundred other children and the photographer zeroed in on her and took her photograph. Pamela’s picture got a lot of attention. In fact, her picture was exhibited in all of the libraries in British Columbia. The childhood photo of Pamela Anderson was even copyrighted.

In spite of all of the attention Pamela received from the media and the public during her unique childhood, Pamela’s teenage years were quite normal. She loved sports, especially volleyball. Pamela Anderson found herself in the spotlight again when she attended a football game in Vancouver three years after she graduated from high school. This incident brought her national attention. She was sitting in the stands wearing a Labatt beer T-shirt and the camera man focused on her and put her image on the big screen during the game. The crowed had such a huge reaction that Labatt hired her to do commercials to promote its product. Pamela Anderson was now the Labatt “Blue Zone” girl and she was featured on the company’s posters. Her picture was spread on the wall of bars and establishments all over Canada.

Most people know what transpired after that. Pamela Anderson became a household name through her character on Bay Watch. She later married Tommy Lee from Motley Crew. Their relationship has been the center of media attention for years, revolving around controversy and hype. Pamela Denise Anderson continues to strive in the spotlight and she will continue to do so for years to come.
